Since its foundation, MontGras has received national and international recognition, with hundreds of medals and awards. In fact, with its first vintage, their Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 1994 was awarded the Best in Chile. Furthermore, it obtained the Best Chilean Wine Producer award in the UK's 2002 International Wine & Spirit Competition, category to which it has been nominated in various occasions for the irrefutable quality and consistency of its wines.
In this same competition, it has been the only Chilean winery nominated for the Winemaker of the Year 2002 award, the same year that MontGras was named International Producer of the Year at Germany's Mundus Vini.
During 2005 it was awarded for the design of its Premium De Gras wines from the Wine & Spirit International Design Awards and by the Fox River / GMS World Label Competition, demonstrating its leadership in graphic design also.
Viña MontGras was selected as the Official Winery for the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) 2004 that was held in Chile. A selection of its premium wines were served in all the meals during the encounter and placed in the gift package given to each APEC participant.
Among many other distinctions, MontGras was awarded in 2003 for its "Agricultural Economic Activity" of the "Competitive Company" Programme of the Workers Safety Agency of the Chilean Chamber of Construction. The distinction recognizes the company, at both the executive and workers level, for maintaining practices that tend to improve security and hygiene at the work place.
Also, in 2002, MontGras was selected by the prestigious Harvard Business School who carried out an in depth study and prepared the first "case study" of a Chilean winery as an example of the Chilean winemaking industry. The results have been translated in many languages and universities around the world have had access to the study.
